Sepi Sepasi

CFO at Mellon Foundation

Sepi Sepasi serves as the Foundation's chief financial officer. Prior to joining the Foundation, she served as the vice dean for finance and administration at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. As the chief business officer, she provided strategic leadership for the school's business and finance functions supporting faculty, staff and students.

Ms. Sepasi previously served in two prominent roles at Rutgers University. As interim vice chancellor for finance and human resources, she helped build the financial infrastructure to support and manage the flagship campus. Prior to this role, she served as the associate vice president for strategic financial initiatives, she co-facilitated the integration of health sciences and the university onto one financial platform, including general ledger, procurement, grants management, payroll, and expense management.

She spent 11 years at University of Chicago and Northwestern University. At University of Chicago, she served as the executive director and chief of staff for finance and administration. She directly supported the executive vice president/chief financial officer in managing the finances of the university. At Northwestern, she led large enterprise-wide initiatives as senior director in the office of change management. Earlier, she served 8 years in management consulting and tax advisory services at Deloitte.

Ms. Sepasi holds an MBA from the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management, and a BA from Michigan State University. She was nominated and completed executive education programs at University Chicago Booth School of Business and Kellogg School of Management.
