Lance L. Oakley has extensive experience in technology systems and support, currently serving as a Systems Analyst at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island since April 2008. In this role, Lance collaborates with Information Systems and user departments to enhance computerized systems while coordinating upgrades to improve business processes. Prior to this, Lance worked at Delta Dental of Rhode Island as Supervisor Technology Services, managing the company's technology infrastructure. Previous positions include Customer Relationship Manager at AT&T, where complex network installations were project managed, and Manager Technical Support at St. Joseph Health Services of Rhode Island, overseeing operations and network activities. Lance holds a degree in Computer Science from Johnson & Wales University and has further education from Bryant University.

On December 28, 2017, the Rhode Island Department of Health announced the approval of Care New England’s reverse certificate of need application to move forward with the functional closure of Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department. As of January 1, 2018, Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department will be closed. Care New England remains committed to ensuring access to community-based, outpatient care that meets the future health care needs in the Blackstone Valley.
