Amelia Stinson-Wesley

Amelia Stinson-Wesley serves as an elected member of the Town Council of Pineville since December 2019 and has been the Senior Pastor at Memorial United Methodist Church since July 2020. Stinson-Wesley is also the Executive Director of World Connections for Women, a position held since 1998. Previous roles include Pastor of Community Engagement at First United Methodist Church of Charlotte (December 2018 - June 2020), Pastor at Purcell UMC (July 2015 - November 2018), and Pastor at Smyrna United Methodist Church (July 2014 - July 2015). Stinson-Wesley has experience as a consultant with NRM Consulting (October 2011 - May 2015) and served as a District 6 Representative on the Board of Education for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (January 2012 - December 2013). Other roles include Executive Director at Options, Inc. (2003 - 2004) and a consultant for the Wat Than Skill Training Facility (2000). Educational credentials include a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School, a Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies from Duke University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Psychology from Meredith College.
