Abusheri Ohwofasa begins her third season with the Memphis Grizzlies as Vice President of Community Engagement and Executive Director of the Memphis Grizzlies Foundation.

Ohwofasa leads the company’s overall community initiatives to help improve the lives of underserved youth and families across the Mid-South region through three core pillars: education, health & fitness and service. In her role, she also serves as the Executive Director, Grizzlies Foundation, where she sets strategy and vision for unique mentoring opportunities and partnerships that provide a path for youth to be successful. In addition, she oversees Foundation grant making.

Prior to joining the Grizzlies in July 2018, Ohwofasa worked for the Golden State Warriors for 14 seasons and received three NBA Championship rings during her tenure. As director of community relations, she was responsible for the organization’s community relations efforts, donation fulfillments, player and coach community engagement and appearances, community ambassador scheduling and corporate sponsored community partnerships.

Ohwofasa is a native of Jackson, Mississippi and a graduate of Spelman College. She serves as a mentor at Soulsville Charter School through the TEAM Mentor program and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and WISE Memphis.
