Director For The Center Of Jewish Life And Learning at MEMPHIS JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER

Abe Schacter-Gampel has extensive experience in the field of spiritual care. Abe has held various roles in different organizations since 2016. Currently, they are the Director for the Center of Jewish Life and Learning at the Memphis Jewish Community Center. Abe is also an Adjunct Professor at the Memphis Theological Seminary. Prior to their current positions, they served as a Rabbi at Hospice of Hope - Tennessee and as the Director of Spiritual Care at the Memphis Jewish Home & Rehab. Abe also worked as a Chaplain Resident at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare and as a Chaplain Intern at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Abe Schacter-Gampel obtained a Bachelor's degree in Classics & Comparative Literature from New York University, where they attended from 2008 to 2011. Following that, they pursued Rabbinic Ordination from Yeshivat Chovevei Torah Rabbinical School, completing their studies from 2013 to 2017. In June 2020, they obtained a certification as a Board Certified Chaplain from Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains.
