Samir Safar-Aly

Samir Safar-Aly serves as Counsel specializing in Financial Regulatory, Compliance & Investigations and leads the MENA FinTech & AI initiatives at Baker McKenzie since February 2023. In addition, Samir co-chairs the Policy & Regulations Working Group of the MENA FinTech Association and mentors tech and FinTech start-ups at the DIFC Innovation Hub. Previous roles include Senior Consultant at Peerpoint, Senior Associate at White & Case LLP, and further positions at Baker McKenzie Habib Al Mulla, Simmons & Simmons, and Ashurst. Educational credentials include an LL.M in Business Law from UC Berkeley, a Diplôme d’Université in International Nuclear Law, and certifications in Islamic Finance and coding for legal professionals, among others.
