Executive Director at Mending Hearts

Heather McBee has an extensive work experience in the music industry. Heather began their career in 1993 as the Vice President of Marketing & Web Initiatives for Sony Music Entertainment. In 2013, they took a role as Senior Communications Strategist for Populr.me, a Nashville start-up that provided an online micropublishing solution. Later that year, they took the position of Operations Director for America's Morning Show at Cumulus Media, where they managed and implemented the show's operations and production, including the New York launch and distribution to an additional 30 syndicated markets. In 2014, they were the Music Industry Lead and Project Music Accelerator for the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, which was the first technology accelerator dedicated to the future of the music business. From 2015 to 2021, McBee held various positions at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, including Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Accelerator Programming, and Program Director of the Project Music Vertical. In 2021, they became an Independent Executive-Level Contractor for BrainTrust and, in 2022, they took on the role of Executive Director at Mending Hearts, Inc., where they work with the founding CEO to explore opportunities to build an even stronger foundation through programmatic work, development, and operations.

Heather McBee received their Bachelor of Arts degree from Belmont University in 1993, majoring in Marketing/Music Business. Heather is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Nonprofit Administration from LSU Shreveport, which they are expected to complete in 2021.
