Patrick Asante has a diverse work experience in the finance field. Patrick is currently serving as the Finance Director for Global Programs at MEDA (Mennonite Economic Development Associates), starting in January 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the Deputy Regional Finance Director for West Africa at World Vision International from July 2020 to January 2021. Patrick also held various roles at World Vision Canada, including Senior Finance Manager & Team Leader for Grants Acquisition and Management & New Initiatives from July 2013 to January 2021, and Finance Officer from January 2011 to June 2013. Additionally, they worked as an Accountant at Dignitas International from August 2010 to December 2010, and as an Accountant at The Yonge Street Mission from March 2008 to July 2010. Patrick started their career as a Senior Financial Analyst at North York General in September 2007. Patrick also gained international experience at World Vision International in Ghana, where they worked as a Finance Officer and Acting ADP Manager from 2000 to 2003.
Patrick Asante obtained a Bachelor of Commerce - BCom degree in Accounting and Business/Management from the University of Cape Coast in the years 1996 to 1999. Patrick then pursued a Master of Business Administration - MBA degree in Finance from Franklin University between 2006 and 2007. In 2003 to 2005, Patrick studied Economic Development, International Development Studies, and MAIA at Ohio University. Continuing their education, they attended McMaster University Continuing Education in 2011 and completed a Business Law Course. Recently, from 2017 to 2021, Patrick pursued a Doctor of Business Administration degree with a specialization in Accounting and Financial Management at Manipal GlobalNxt University. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained a Grants Financial Management Certificate from WORLD CARE VISION INTERNATIONAL in August 2002.
