Els de Waegeneer

Els De Waegeneer is a researcher with extensive experience in public health and equity in healthcare, currently serving as a Researcher at Mensura since September 2023 and a Postdoctoral Researcher in Public Health at Ghent University since November 2020, focusing on the health effects of non-ionizing electromagnetic fields. Additionally, Els founded and organized public reading initiatives "Lezen in het Park" and "Lezen in de Living" in Gent between July 2022 and July 2023. Previous roles include Coordinator at Missing You and Guest Professor of Ethics at HOWEST University of Applied Sciences. Els obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Health Sciences and continues to pursue a Master's degree in Health Promotion at Ghent University, complemented by various other educational credentials in literature, bereavement counseling, and biomedical sciences.
