Kathy Lynn Cook

Kathy Lynn Cook is an experienced attorney serving as Deputy General Counsel at Mental Health Advocacy Services/Child Advocacy Program since October 1995, where responsibilities include representing adults and juveniles in mental health proceedings and children involved in Abuse and Neglect CINC cases in the 16th JDC. Prior to this role, Kathy Cook was an instructor in the Criminal Justice Program at the University of Southwestern Louisiana from August 1983 to July 1992. Educational qualifications include a J.D. from LSU Law (1995), an M.A. in Political Science/Criminal Justice from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (1986), a B.S. in Administration of Justice from American University (1978), and an Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (1974). Kathy Cook's foundational education was completed at South Terrebonne High School, graduating in 1974.
