Mary Giliberti serves as the Chief Public Policy Officer at Mental Health America since October 2019. Prior to this role, Giliberti was the Chief Executive Officer at the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) from January 2014 to April 2019, and has held positions including Section Chief at the Office for Civil Rights in the Department of Health and Human Services from 2008 to 2013. Additionally, Giliberti worked as the Director of Public Policy and Advocacy at NAMI from 2006 to 2008, and served as Disability Counsel for the Senate Health Education Labor and Pensions Committee between 2003 and 2005. Giliberti's earlier experience includes a decade as Senior Staff Attorney at The Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law. Educationally, Giliberti holds a JD from Yale Law School and a BA in Economics from Harvard University.
