Patrick L. has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Their most recent role was as the Chief Information Officer at the Mental Health Commission of Western Australia, where they were responsible for planning and purchasing mental health services. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Corporate Services and Manager of Information Services at the same organization. Patrick also held positions at the Department of Commerce and Department of Consumer and Employment Protection in various managerial roles. In addition, Patrick worked as a Training Centre Manager at the City of Stirling, where they established and managed the first Information Technology Training Centre in a public library in Australia. Patrick began their career as a School Development Consultant at the Department of Education, where they provided consultation services and training to teachers and administrators.
Patrick L. attended Cragie Senior High School from 1984 to 1988, where they obtained a Secondary Education Graduate degree, focusing on English Language and Literature. Later, from 1989 to 1992, they studied at Curtin University, earning a Bachelor of Education degree with a specialization in Communications.
Mental Health Commission of Western Australia
The Mental Health Commission is responsible for planning and purchasing mental health, alcohol and other drug services in Western Australia. We do not provide direct mental health services, but purchase services for the State from a range of providers including public Health Service Providers, a wide range of non-government organisations and private service providers. On July 1, 2015 the Commission amalgamated with the Drug and Alcohol Office to deliver an integrated approach to helping people with mental health, drug and alcohol problems, recognising that these problems commonly coexist. The new organisation, called the Mental Health Commission, is now responsible for the network of drug and alcohol treatment services and programs formerly provided and/or purchased by the Drug and Alcohol Office. Our vision is for a Western Australian community that experiences minimal alcohol and other drug-related harms and optimal mental health.
