Emily Alwin is a dedicated public health professional with diverse experience in health care coordination, program management, and community engagement. Currently serving as a Public Health Data and Assessment Intern at Hennepin County and as a UCare Care Coordinator at MHR, Inc., Emily previously managed programs under the ROSS Grant at Vail Place, where functions included monitoring resident needs, collaborating with community stakeholders, and leading grant application processes. Earlier roles include Interim Care Coordinator and Targeted Case Manager at MHR, Inc., focusing on providing resources for clients with mental illness and substance use challenges. Emily's foundational experience as a Residential Counselor at Lutheran Social Services involved mentoring adolescents with emotional disorders. Pursuing a Master’s in Public Health at the University of Minnesota, Emily holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Augustana University.

The mission of Mental Health Resources, Inc. is to foster hope, health and recovery for those affected by mental illness and substance use disorder. MHR collaborates with clients and families to facilitate learning and growth for individuals, families and the community and to foster client empowerment and expectation of success. We believe that people with mental illness can learn to lead full lives in the community. We challenge ourselves and the larger community to address barriers that inhibit their independence, growth, and recovery.
