Rita Monteiro

Rita Monteiro, Ph.D. is a licensed Clinical Psychologist. She received her MA and Ph.D. degrees at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She received her BA degree at The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Monteiro has worked with the following populations over her career: Child and Family, Adolescent Services, Substance Abuse, Chronic Mental Illness, and for the past 21 years, as a Psychotherapist for Veterans with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. She has worked in Treatment, Administration, Teaching, and Supervision, and participated in the National Leadership VA program in 1995. She has been on the Board for Mental Health Systems since January 1994 and has held several offices on the Board. Dr. Monteiro retired in 2019 after 29 years at the VA San Diego Healthcare System.
