As our Internal IT and Security Director you will be part of developing a newly created function to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our internal IT operations. This responsibility has previously been shared between, amongst others, our CTO, CTIO and some other department heads. Those responsibilities will now be transferred into a central role reporting to the COO. In that central role you’ll be collaborating closely with stakeholders from the entire Mentimeter organization ranging from the legal to department heads. Your goal will be to catalyze and enable the entire organization. You will also have the formal role as the Security Officer for the company.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain and update Mentimeter IT strategy, and management team, company objectives and key stakeholders alignment.
  • Manage the annual IT budget
  • Team leadership and line management responsibilities
  • Lead the overall Information Security work in collaboration with stakeholders at the company 
  • Hold the formal role as Security Officer for Mentimeter AB
  • Audit and take action when needed and enforce IT policies, procedures, and compliance with regulations and business needs.
  • Oversee and manage IT, applications and systems environment and infrastructure (excluding the infrastructure and systems that are delivering our own SaaS product
  • Ensure necessary availability, reliability, and security of IT systems
  • Ensure information architecture is sound and data integrity is maintained
  • Accountable for service desk for IT-related issues, providing guidance and support
  • Vendor management for both internal systems with employee data as well as CRM and automation systems with external customer data
    • Process owner for new vendor procurement, vendor relationships as well as sunsetting vendors
    • Note: You are not the budget owner or decision maker of most systems. that is the department head, but you will own the overall process and enforce e.g. compliance and ensure there is a solid business case for the procurement. You will act as the advisor to owners of systems in the Sales, Marketing, Catalyst, Product and Finance & Legal departments

What experiences will you be expected to bring with you, you may ask?

  • At least 8+ years proven experience in an IT management role, with 4+ years in senior leadership
  • Experience with BYOD environment and best-of-breed vendor strategies
  • Strong proficiency in various IT systems and infrastructure, including IT security, network administration, and cloud-based systems.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and negotiating with vendors, including software and hardware suppliers.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting skills
  • Track record of establishing and managing IT budgets
  • Ability to develop and implement IT strategies aligned with company objectives
  • Experience with IT compliance and regulatory environments.
  • Previous line management and team leader experience empowering you team members and supporting their growth
  • Fully proficiency in English, both in written and verbal communication

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Certification in IT governance or security, such as CISM, CISSP
  • Programming skills
  • Ability to conduct technology audits and implement corrective measures
