Alison Shortland

Alison Shortland has been working in the fabric and trims industry since 2006. Alison began their career as a Fabric Agent at Misan Agencies in 2006 and then moved to River Island as a Fabric Sourcing Assistant in 2008. Alison then joined Karen Millen as an Assistant Fabric Buyer in 2008 and Coast Fashion as a Fabric Buyer in 2010. In 2014, they became the Fabric & Trims Manager at Aquascutum and then moved to Hobbs London as the Fabric Manager in 2021. Most recently, they have been working as a Fabric and Trims Developer at ME+EM Ltd since 2022. Alison is also experienced in freelance work as a Fabric Consultant, with strong technical knowledge and clients including LK Bennett, Field Grey (Luxury Uniforms), L'Estrange, and Lithuanian Factories.

Alison Shortland began their educational career at Greater Brighton Metropolitan College, where they earned a Diploma in Art and Design Foundation in 2001-2002. Alison then went on to Loughborough University, where they earned a BA Hons in Multi Media Textiles from 2002-2005.
