Chris Birkinshaw

Chris Birkinshaw has a diverse work experience in the technology and broadcast industry. Chris started their career in 2003 at the BBC as a Digital Broadcast Systems Specialist, where they designed and provided technical support for broadcast solutions. In 2008, they joined eventIS as a UK Engineer and Sales Consultant. Chris then transitioned to SeaChange International, where they worked as a Solution Architect and Sales Consultant, designing and selling video delivery solutions for major operators. In 2012, they became the Digital Director at Dazed Group Ltd, managing the technical roadmap and platform strategy. Chris later joined SeaChange International again as a Solution Architect and worked with tier-1 operators. In 2015, they joined BBC Worldwide as the Head of Architecture, Consumer Digital, and then moved to Hyper Pattern Ltd as a Director in 2016. Currently, they work at Merapar Technologies as a Technology Principal in the UK.

Chris Birkinshaw attended The University of Sheffield from 2000 to 2003, where they obtained a 2.1 degree in Microbiology. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications including Professional Scrum Master 1 and Professional Agile Leadership 1 from Scrum.org in December 2019 and November 2018, respectively. Chris also holds certifications in AWS, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional (SAP) obtained in December 2018, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate obtained in July 2018.
