Masashi Kondo

Masashi Kondo currently serves as the Director of Legal & Governance and is part of the Board of Directors Office at Mercari, Inc. since April 2022. Prior to this role, Kondo worked at Hitachi from June 2014 to March 2022, holding various managerial positions that included Corporate Governance and Risk Management. Noteworthy achievements during this tenure include successfully executing multi-million dollar transactions involving semiconductor businesses and financial institutions, managing significant financing projects, and leading efforts for legal compliance and corporate restructuring. Earlier experience at Hitachi from April 2006 involved corporate and securities law, facilitating company investments and public offerings, and engaging in shareholder relations. Kondo holds an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, has completed an Executive Management Program at The University of Tokyo, and possesses a Bachelor of Laws from Chuo University.
