Dave Songer

Dave Songer has a diverse work experience in content design and editorial roles. Dave is currently working as a Content Designer for HM Revenue & Customs and Mercator Digital since September 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Content Designer for UK Health Security Agency from October 2021 to September 2022. Dave also worked as a Content Designer for Public Health England from May 2019 to October 2021.

Before transitioning into content design, Dave worked as an Editor and Content Manager for SmartRail World from July 2017 to May 2019. Dave also has experience as a Reporter for Newtrade Publishing from October 2016 to May 2017. In this role, they conducted research to write informative articles for independent retailers.

Earlier in their career, Dave worked as an Assistant Editor and Editorial Assistant for Rail Professional from March 2014 to August 2016. Dave started their career as a Senior Artworker and Sub-Editor for a freelance position from April 2013 to February 2014.

Prior to that, Dave served as a Senior Artworker for EMO Limited from May 2011 to April 2013 and as an Artworker for August Media from October 2008 to April 2011.

Dave Songer's education history includes a BA (Hons) degree in Digital Media from the University of Leeds, which they completed from 2000 to 2003. In 2015, they attended a professional course in News Writing at the Press Association. In 2013, they obtained an NCTJ sub-editing diploma from The Argus Newspaper in Brighton. Prior to this, from 1998 to 2000, they completed A-levels in Computing, Business Studies, and Media at South Devon College.
