Luciana Chavez, M.S., is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in publishing, education, and communications. As the founder, writer, and editor of Chavez Publishing since 2005, Luciana has successfully managed various projects, including branding and social media strategies. Luciana also works as a substitute teacher at the Merced County Office of Education, handling classrooms across multiple grade levels. Previously, Luciana served as the president and treasurer/secretary of the Le Grand Bulldog Football Club, focusing on donor relations and financial oversight. Additional roles include editorial positions at Duke Medicine and The News & Observer, showcasing a strong background in writing and editing across diverse formats. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Health Care Communication from Boston University and a B.A. in History from UCLA.
Merced County Office of Education
MCOE staff promotes student success by helping Merced County's 20 school districts serve more than 55,000 K-12 students of all abilities through assistance with curriculum and instruction, career and alternative education, business services, technology, special education, and teacher credentialing. MCOE will continue to focus on improving its work with school districts on behalf of students. MCOE also promotes student success through support of quality child care, preschool programs and special education services to babies and their families operated by Merced County school districts and through MCOE operated Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
