Tobias Placke

Tobias Placke is an expert in battery cell technology at Mercedes-Benz AG since September 2022, focusing on the Center of Competence in Battery Development. Prior to this role, Tobias served as the Head of the Division "Materials" at the MEET Battery Research Center from April 2014 to September 2022, where responsibilities included project leadership, management of public research projects, and supervision of students and personnel. Tobias has also held the position of Head of the Competence Area "Anodes," specializing in graphite and silicon anodes for lithium-ion batteries. Educational credentials include a PhD in Physical Chemistry and a Diplom-Chemiker in Physical Chemistry, both obtained from the University of Münster.
