Andi Mitchell

Andi Mitchell is the current Executive Director of the Mercer Engineering Research Center at Mercer University. Prior to this, they worked as the HR and Recruitment Coordinator for Blue Bird Corporation from May 2018 to September 2020. In this role, they were responsible for establishing and maintaining standards and measurements, total quality management, recruitment and placement, employee development and training throughout the organization. Andi also optimized human capital by defining job-specific skills requirements and implementing HR policies and procedures. Additionally, they coordinated, sourced, and managed candidate pipelines by screening all applications to submit to hiring managers, creating the experience from start to finish, as well as communicating tactfully, professionally, and with the utmost diplomacy. During their time at Blue Bird Corporation, they also collected and maintained college internship candidate data to provide reports for current and future reference, increasing the applicant pool from 70 applicants to over 500 for the summer of 2019. Andi welcomed open-door policies and maintained ongoing rapport with all associates while also maintaining job postings through applicant tracking systems. Furthermore, they researched beneficial recruiting avenues to attract talent, as well as attended career fairs and created flyers for networking events. Lastly, they constructed compensation reports for various job positions and assisted with new hire on-boarding (prepare packets, coordinate orientations, updating records, etc.). Andi Mitchell has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Mercer University's Stetson School of Business and Economics and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Communication Studies from Mercer University.
