Mercer University
Mike MacCarthy is an accomplished academic and engineer with extensive experience in environmental and civil engineering. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Mercer University since 2014, Mike also holds leadership roles as the Director of both the Engineering for Development Program and the Cecil Day Family Center for International Groundwater Innovation. Prior experience includes positions at the University of South Florida, Oxfam, and GOAL Ireland, among others, where Mike contributed significantly to public health engineering and development research. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering from the University of South Florida, a Master of Science in Engineering for Development from the University of Southampton, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
