David Barker

David Barker is a Principal at Mercer, with a focus on global pension management, global benefits and wellbeing, and mergers and acquisitions, serving since August 2007. Prior to this role, David was an annuity placement specialist in the defined benefit pension plans sector, leveraging over a decade of broking experience in the UK and US Pension Risk Transfer market. Previously, David held the position of Actuarial Analyst at JLT Group, where responsibilities included actuarial valuation processes and pension administration, and worked as a Business Analyst at United Utilities, contributing to business development efforts. David began his career as a Year in Industry intern at Babcock Defence, gaining insights in business development, finance, and human resources. David holds an MSc in Mathematics with Business and Management from The University of Manchester, a Retirement Provision Certificate from the Pension Management Institute, and an NVQ Level 3 NEBS Management Certificate Award of Supervisory Management from WCG.
