Brenda Cushing

Brenda Cushing is a seasoned executive and board director with extensive experience in the financial services sector. Currently serving as a Board Director at Merchants Bonding Company, Brenda has held similar positions at Mercy Medical Center - Des Moines, American Equity, Bankers Trust, and United Way of Central Iowa. From March 1993 to August 2015, Brenda served as EVP and Chief Financial Officer at Athene USA, overseeing financial reporting, planning and analysis, capital management, and treasury operations. Prior to that, Brenda was a Manager at McGladrey & Pullen, managing audit and assurance engagements across various industries. Brenda holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Iowa State University, obtained in 1986.
