Alexander Soukas

Principal Scientist / Director in Translational Medicine

Alexander Soukas is an accomplished medical professional with extensive experience in endocrinology, diabetes, and genomic medicine. Following the completion of an MD/PhD program at Weill Cornell Medical College, Alexander completed residency training in internal medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital and served as a postdoctoral fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital. Subsequently, positions included Clinical and Research Fellow in Endocrinology, Assistant Professor of Medicine, and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where responsibilities included research in lipid metabolism and patient care. Currently, Alexander is the Principal Scientist and Director in Translational Medicine at Merck, following a tenure as Associate Scientific Director at the Center for Genomic Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. Educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Brown University and a Doctor of Medicine from Weill Medical College of Cornell University, along with a PhD in Molecular Genetics from Rockefeller University.
