David McLaren

David McLaren is an accomplished professional in the field of quantitative biosciences with extensive experience at Merck since May 2009. As an Executive Director, David has led initiatives in both Quantitative Biosciences and Computational and Structural Chemistry, overseeing teams engaged in protein biochemistry, biophysics, and analytical chemistry. Prior roles include Director of Screening, Target & Compound Profiling, where David managed teams dedicated to Lead Identification across various therapeutic areas, and Principal Scientist positions focusing on pharmacology, molecular biomarkers, and atherosclerosis. David's earlier career involved research roles at Neuromed Pharmaceuticals and Xenon Pharmaceuticals, concentrating on bioanalysis and drug metabolism. David holds a PhD in Chemistry from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Chemistry from the University of Manitoba.
