Marcos Costa

Marcos Costa has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as VP Global Operational Excellence at Merck since September 2015. Previously, Marcos held positions as AVP Global Workplace and Enterprise Services and AVP Plant Management, overseeing LPO operations that included product development, clinical trials, and global supply of pharmaceutical products. Marcos’s earlier tenure at Merck from September 1998 to September 2014 involved leading operations at two manufacturing plants specializing in formulation, packaging, and API operations. Educational qualifications include completing the Emerging Market for Future Leaders Program at Harvard University, a Post Graduation in Industrial Quality Engineering from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from USP - Universidade de São Paulo. Additional professional development was undertaken at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2022.
