Taylor McCoy

Taylor McCoy is currently a Compliance Specialist at Mercury. Prior to this, they worked as a Financial Controls & Oversight Senior Consultant at Wells Fargo from December 2018 to February 2022, and before that as a Risk Assurance Associate and intern at PwC from August 2017 to December 2018 and June 2016 to August 2016, respectively.

At Wells Fargo, McCoy was part of the Commercial Banking Business COSO Team, where they were responsible for end-to-end process and controls optimization, internal control reviews, process documentation (narratives, diagrams), governance and oversight, regulatory/SEC reporting support, issue management, risk management, system migrations, and COSO framework implementation. They also gained experience in Wholesale Lending and Commercial Banking.

At PwC, McCoy was first an intern before being promoted to Risk Assurance Associate. As an Associate, they were tasked with testing implementation, design, and operating effectiveness of controls; documenting audit approach and results of testing; engaging in client discussions and conducting walkthroughs/meetings; reviewing workpapers completed by other team members; and managing remote team members and assigning work. McCoy gained valuable experience working with financial services clients on SOC reports, Regulation AB audits, integrated audits, business processes, ITGCs / GCCs, and IT dependencies / key reports testing.

Taylor McCoy has a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with an Information Systems Concentration from North Carolina State University. They also have a High School Diploma from Overhills High School. Lastly, they are certified from the Internal Revenue Service in Volunteer Income Tax Assistance.

Taylor McCoy reports to Noah Payton, Compliance Director. They work with Branden Wagner - Information Security Manager, Courtney Hurney - Compliance Management Systems Manager.
