Connected Devices Engineer at Mercury Intermedia

Phillip Stene has worked in a variety of roles in the technology industry since 2008. From 2008-2009, they worked as an Intern at Valassis, where they provided research materials for Strategic Planning initiatives, prepared and entered final negotiated sales data into a database, and collected and analyzed research of business processes and IT best practices to incorporate into an IT University curriculum. From 2009-2010, they worked as a Network Support Intern at TTI, where they populated a MS SharePoint based database for global marketing and sales initiatives, performed PHP script debugging, and performed basic network maintenance. From 2010-2011, they worked as a Website Design Specialist at Towne Mortgage, where they built an Adobe Flex application to craft prewritten letters to congressional representatives to be used by mortgage recipients, lead an initiative to implement new internal web form architecture, and was responsible for testing and bug resolution of dynamic web pages. From 2011-2015, they worked as an Interactive Developer at MRM Worldwide, where they built JavaScript development and bug resolution of sales lead applications for GM brands, implemented SVN branch structure to safeguard against premature MYR content propagation into higher environments, and interfaced with Buenos Aires development team to facilitate bug resolution and development strategy. From 2015-2016, they worked as an Interactive Developer at One10, where they lead development of a solution for an international rewards program serving Ford and Lincoln automotive brands, utilizing Grav CMS, NodeJS, Foundation, Google Materials, and SASS. Phillip also developed a build process of the afore mentioned rewards program solution, differentiating between environments (dev, stage, & production) and tying into Bitbucket/Azure streamlining continuous integration & deployment, and mentored junior developers. Most recently, from 2021-present, they have worked as a Connected Devices Engineer at Mercury Intermedia, where they are the Principal Engineer on a project to create a "code once deploy everywhere" framework to create media consumption apps (e.g. Netflix, Hulu, etc) for deployment on set-tops (e.g. Apple TV, Roku, etc).

Phillip Stene has a MS in Computer Science from Lawrence Technological University, obtained in 2016, and a BS in Information Technology from Oakland University, obtained in 2010. Phillip also has five certificates of completion from Udemy, including Python 3 (2019), MEAN Stack (2017), Angular 4 (2017), NodeJS (2017), and TDD Java (2016).
