Philip Malanchuk

Philip Malanchuk is an experienced security and engineering professional with a strong background in control systems and cyber security. Currently serving as a Security Specialist in Operational Technology at a major New Zealand power generation company since July 2019, Philip has previously held roles including Control Systems Security Specialist and Senior Controls and Instrumentation Engineer. At a US-based generating utility from November 2015 to April 2019, Philip contributed to a nuclear power plant cyber security project, focusing on establishing cyber security programs and ensuring regulatory compliance. Earlier in their career, Philip was Engineering Manager for Nuclear and Commissioning Services at Ready Engineering Corporation, and gained hands-on experience as an Electronic Designer at the University of Alberta. Philip's professional journey began with seasonal laborer positions in the City of Edmonton's Department of Transportation and Streets. Academically, Philip holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and an Advanced Program in Project Management, both from the University of Alberta.
