Jorge Gómez Mourelle

Lead Environment Artist at MercurySteam

Jorge Gómez Mourelle has over 25 years of experience in the video game industry. Jorge began their career in 1995 as a Graphic Artist at Pyro Studios, where they worked on the PC game "Commandos: Behind the Enemy Lines". In 1998, they moved to Trilobite Graphics as a Lead Artist and Senior Artist, working on the Xbox game "Duality" (cancelled project). In 2003, they became Art Director at Nebula Technologies, where they were responsible for concept art and 3D models for characters and environments. From 2004 to 2010, they worked at Gameloft as an Art Owner and Senior 2D-3D Artist, where they were responsible for concept art, 2D retouch of 3D rendered graphics, and 3D high and low poly models for both 3D and 2D games. From 2018 to 2019, they were a Senior 3D Artist at Game Troopers, where they were the lead artist and was responsible for documentation, workflow, techniques, and procedures. Since 2019, they have been working at MercurySteam as a Senior Environment Artist, and since 2022 they have been working as a Lead Environment Artist.

Jorge Gómez Mourelle obtained a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid between 1989 and 1994. Additionally, they hold a certification in "Creación de videojuegos con Unreal Engine" from the Comunidad de Madrid - Dirección General de Formación.
