Wendy Herring currently serves as the Children's Rehabilitative Services and Children’s Behavioral Health Liaison at Mercy Care, a position held since February 2024. Prior to this role, Wendy worked at Southwest Network from November 2009 to February 2024, where responsibilities included serving as a Clinical Educator, Team Lead and Liaison to the Department of Child Safety, and High Needs Case Manager. Earlier in the career, Wendy was a Life Skills Specialist at Florence Crittenton from June 2007 to November 2009, and a Human Services Specialist II at the Division of Developmental Disabilities from June 2006 to June 2007. Wendy's career began with the Arizona Department of Economic Security as an Eligibility Interviewer II from February 1994 to October 1996. Wendy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Science from the University of Arizona, earned between August 1986 and December 1990.

Mercy Care is a not-for-profit health plan serving AHCCCS members throughout Arizona. Owned by Dignity Health and Ascension Health, Mercy Care has served Medicaid members since 1985. Mercy Care provides access to health care services for families, children, seniors, and people with physical and developmental/cognitive disabilities. Mercy Care also operates as the Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) in Maricopa County, which was the first RBHA in Arizona to offer integrated physical and behavioral health services to persons determined to have a serious mental illness.
