Emma Rios Sanchez

Emma Rios Sanchez currently serves as the Regional Business Development Senior Advisor for Asia at Mercy Corps, a position held since January 2023, following a role as Regional New Initiatives Specialist. Prior experience includes serving as Programme Manager for the EU Afghanistan Peace Support Mechanism and the Middle East and North Africa Unit at Sida, where efforts focused on fostering inclusive societies and addressing development cooperation. Additional roles include consultancy work for Academic Work and self-employment, as well as organizing a charity event in London for Doctors Without Borders. Emma has also contributed as an Election Officer for Göteborgs Stad during the 2014 European Parliamentary Election. Educational qualifications include an MSc in Political Science from Stockholm University and a BA in International Relations from SOAS University of London, along with additional language training in Arabic.
