Mary-Anne Gallagher

Mary-Anne Gallagher has extensive work experience in the field of human resources and organizational development. Mary-Anne is currently serving as the Chief People Officer at Mercy Health Australia since 2022. Prior to that, they were the Group Director, People and Culture at Cabrini Health from 2014 to 2021. During their tenure at Cabrini Health, they played a crucial role in developing the organization's People & Culture strategy and operating model. Mary-Anne also led the implementation of various initiatives to enhance leadership capability and build a sustainable culture.

Before their time at Cabrini Health, Mary-Anne worked at Monash University as the Director of Organizational Development and Policy, where they established and centralized the Organizational Development and Policy division. Mary-Anne was responsible for developing HR policy programs, staff engagement strategies, and leadership development initiatives.

Mary-Anne also has experience in the public sector, having worked as the Deputy Director and Director of HR at the Department of Sustainability and Environment. Mary-Anne managed a team and provided strategic and operational HR services to a large number of staff across multiple locations. Prior to that, they worked at the Department of Natural Resources and Environment as a Manager of Employee Relations and Development, where they oversaw HR services for a large staff base.

Earlier in their career, Mary-Anne served as a Human Resources Consultant at Alfred Health. Overall, they bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in people and culture management, strategic HR planning, leadership development, and organizational transformation.

Mary-Anne Gallagher's education history includes a Membership in the Australian Institute of Company Directors, where they completed the Company Directors Course in 2020. In 2019, they attended the Cranlana Centre for Ethical Leadership and completed The Colloquium, focusing on ethics and leadership. From 2010 to 2012, Mary-Anne pursued a Masters of Science in Positive Organization Development at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. In 2009, they received the International Travelling Fellowship from Monash University. Mary-Anne is also a Certified Professional Member of the Australian HR Institute and a Member of the International Positive Psychology Association. Mary-Anne participated in the Williamson Leadership Program at Leadership Victoria, a year-long transformative program. Mary-Anne holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Physiology from Monash University. Additionally, they are a Registered Psychologist specializing in Organisational Psychology, recognized by the Psychology Board of Australia.
