Dennis Alcorn

Dennis Alcorn is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in health informatics and data management. Currently serving as Programs Data Management Director, Programs Informatics Manager, Data Engineer, and Hospital Informatics Manager at Mercy Ships since September 2016, Dennis specializes in designing and implementing analytics dashboards using R and Qlik Sense to enhance patient care and forecasting needs. Previous roles at Mercy Ships as Medical Capacity Building Research Assistant and IT Specialist involved analyzing health care data and ensuring the functionality of IT equipment on the largest civilian ship hospital. Prior experience as Health Care Informatician at Cabarrus Health Alliance included managing health care information and implementing electronic health records, while also teaching public health to middle school students and working with children with special needs at West Cabarrus YMCA. Dennis holds a Professional Science Masters in Health Informatics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Appalachian State University.
