Marius Jonker

Marius Jonker is an experienced forestry professional with a career spanning over three decades. Currently serving as Forestry Manager at Merensky Timber since August 2001, Marius Jonker has previously held various managerial roles within the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry, including Area Forest Manager: Matiwane and Acting Director of Forestry. Marius also worked at the Department of Agriculture and Forestry in the former Republic of Transkei as Regional Forest Officer. Early in the career, Marius was involved in multiple capacities at SAFCOL and the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry, focusing on budget management, thinning control, fire protection, and plantation mapping. Marius Jonker obtained a B.Sc. in Forestry from Stellenbosch University and completed secondary education at DF Malan High School and Paarl Boys' High School.
