Nick McDougall

Nick McDougall has over 15 years of work experience in the energy industry. Nick started their career as an Electrical Supervisor at Transfield Power & Constructions, where they supervised the electrical team responsible for installation, maintenance, and fault repairs on station equipment. In 2006, they moved to Meridian Energy, where they held various roles including Generation Controller, Team Lead Generation Control, Operations Coordinator, and currently, Site Manager. In their roles at Meridian Energy, they have been responsible for real-time operation, management of operating standards and procedures, work control systems, emergency generation control, and emergency management. Nick has also been involved in the optimization and delivery of generation plant, hydrology, and ancillary services in a safe and efficient manner.

Nick McDougall attended Methven High School from 1988 to 1990, where they obtained a higher school certificate. Their field of study during this time included calculus, physics, and English. Later, in 2007 to 2008, they enrolled in the New Zealand Qualifications Authority and earned a National Diploma in Electricity Supply.
