Meridian Specialty Yarn Group, Inc.

Meridian Specialty Yarn Group, Inc. (MSYG) is the leading specialty yarn and fiber wet processing operation in the United States. At the company’s new, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Valdese, North Carolina, Meridian offers package-dyed yarn, space-dyed yarn, top-dyed wool and yarn printing and twisting. The new plant is also home to the only tow-dyeing capacity in the US and has the technology to dye or chemically treat any fiber substrate, from cellulosic to acrylic to many aramid. Meridian’s new dyehouse includes a large investment in sustainable technologies and processes that dramatically reduce water consumption and chemical use. This means the new plant has significantly reduced levels of effluent compared to other yarn dye operations around the globe. The new plant also has a reduced carbon footprint because the technical advances in the dyeing and drying processes use much less electricity and natural gas than in a conventional plant. In short, the company’s new dyehouse is the most modern and up-to-date in the USA and equal to, or better than, any other yarn dyeing operation worldwide. Meridian’s novelty spinning operation in Ranlo, North Carolina, produces coarse count novelty yarn from various substrates using six different yarn formation technologies. The end uses for the yarns manufactured at both plants include home furnishings, hosiery, industrial, craft yarns and apparel. Meridian Specialty Yarn Group is a Meridian Industries, Inc. company.
