Paul B. Latshaw

Director of Golf Course Operations at Merion Golf Club

Paul Latshaw has a diverse work experience in the golf and grounds industry. Paul started their career as a greenskeeper at Augusta National Golf Club in 1989. Paul then worked as an irrigation installer at Tanto Construction and Supply Inc. for a few months before becoming an assistant golf course superintendent at Wilmington Country Club in 1989. In 1992, they joined Merion Golf Club as a golf course superintendent, a role they held until 1998. From 1999 to 2003, Paul served as the Manager of Golf Courses and Grounds at Oak Hill Country Club. Paul then became the Director of Grounds Operations at Muirfield Village Golf Club in 2003 and held this position until 2017. In 2007, Paul worked as a Staff Agronomist at Nicklaus Design for two years. Lastly, they joined Merion Golf Club in 2017 as the Director of Golf Course Operations.

Paul Latshaw earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Science from Penn State University. Paul also obtained an Associate's degree in Turf and Turfgrass Management from the same institution. Paul later pursued a Masters of Science degree in Management from Rosemont College.

Merion Golf Club

Merion Golf Club is a private golf club located in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. The Club has two courses: the East Course and the West Course. The East Course has been consistently rated by Golf Digest as among America's greatest golf courses. Merion has hosted 18 USGA Championships, more than any other club, including five U.S. Opens. Most recently, Merion hosted the 2013 U.S. Open Championship.
