Ian Rypkema

Ian Rypkema began their work experience as a Captain for Cyberhawks 706 from May 2014 to May 2015. Ian then worked as a Laborer for Nissen Staffing Continuum for a brief period in May and June 2016. In 2017, they interned at the City of Williston, North Dakota, where they worked on various projects related to the city engineer's office, including the development of an arcGIS map and preparation of preliminary drawings. In 2018, they interned at LB Stone Properties Group, where they worked on property development and management projects. Their responsibilities included tasks such as sizing an irrigation pump and performing earthwork volume calculations. Currently, Ian is an Engineer 1 at Merrick & Company, where they have been since July 2019. Their work there involves assisting project managers and engineers in design aspects for projects ranging from small site commercial development to water/waste water and transportation. Ian primarily works in Civil 3D, performing tasks such as base file setup, pipe networks, grading, and page setup.

Ian Rypkema obtained a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Gonzaga University, where they studied from 2015 to 2019. Prior to that, they attended Arrowhead High School from 2011 to 2015, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned. In April 2019, Ian also obtained a certification as an Engineer In Training from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).
