Theodore Peterson

Theodore Peterson has a diverse range of work experience in the field of information security. Theodore currently holds the position of Vice President, Information Security at Datasite, where they have been working since November 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Information Security at Datasite from July 2019 to November 2021.

In addition to their roles at Datasite, Theodore has also worked at other notable companies. Theodore was a member of the Expel Customer Advisory Board at Expel starting in April 2021. Before joining Datasite, they worked at SPS Commerce as an Information Security Manager from June 2018 to June 2019. During this time, they managed two off-shored security teams and programs, led the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) program, and achieved positive audit results. Prior to that, they served as a Principal Security Analyst at SPS Commerce from September 2015 to June 2018, where they implemented information protection standards and led a Security GRC team.

Before their time at SPS Commerce, Theodore gained valuable experience working at Target as a Senior Process Analyst from June 2011 to June 2015. In this role, they developed and deployed a Cyber Security Incident Response process and coordinated a Red Team phishing exercise. Theodore also served as a Capability Analyst - Consultant at United Healthcare Medicare and Retirement for a brief period from March 2011 to June 2011.

Earlier in their career, Theodore worked at ELCA Board of Pensions as an Enterprise Business Analyst from November 2007 to February 2011. Theodore was also a Business Relationship Partner at ELCA Board of Pensions from November 2005 to November 2009, where they served as a communication conduit between the business units and the Information Solutions department. Theodore started their career at ELCA Board of Pensions as a Technical Analyst from March 2005 to November 2005.

Before their time at ELCA Board of Pensions, Theodore worked at Norstan as a Data Center Supervisor from November 2004 to February 2005. Theodore supervising Data Center Operators and managed the physical and logical environment of the Data Center. Prior to that, they served as an IS Professional, Senior II at Norstan from January 2001 to November 2004, where they provided second and third level support, specialized in server and infrastructure management, and designed and architected Active Directory.

Theodore's career began at Connect Computer as an IS Professional from February 1998 to December 2000, where they provided first level support and specialized in PC deployment and training.

Theodore Peterson completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in American Studies from the University of Minnesota, starting in 1993 and finishing in 1997. Theodore then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Augsburg University, studying from 2005 to 2007. In terms of additional certifications, Theodore obtained the following: ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Lead Auditor (TPECS) from BSI in January 2017, CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) from ISACA in August 2016, CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) from (ISC)² in July 2015, and CSM (Certified ScrumMaster) from Scrum Alliance in October 2009.
