Simona Sharoni is the current Vice President of Inclusive Excellence, Institutional Access & Leadership at Merrimack College. Prior to this, they served as the Director of the Interdisciplinary Institute at Merrimack College from August 2018 to July 2020.


Before their time at Merrimack College, Sharoni was a Professor at SUNY Plattsburgh from August 2007 to August 2017. Simona was also Visiting Faculty at The Evergreen State College from September 1999 to June 2007, and Academic Director of the Peace and Conflict Resolution Semester at American University from August 1995 to December 1999.


Sharoni began their career as an Assistant Professor of Peace and Conflict Resolution at the American University School of International Service from August 1994 to May 1999.


Simona Sharoni earned a Ph.D in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University and an MA in Counseling & Special Education from the University of Haifa. Simona is also certified as a Distinguished Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Educator from Merrimack College.


They are on a team with Karen Slaton - AVP, CIO, Leila Rice - Vice President, Development and Alumni Relations, and Cara Callanan - AVP, Finance/Accounting & Controller. Simona Sharoni reports to Christopher E. Hopey, President.
