Kavita Baba

Kavita Baba has a diverse work experience in various industries. Kavita currently holds the position of Senior Director of Business Development at Mersana Therapeutics since July 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Zymergen, Inc. from 2019 to 2022 as the Director of Business Development in the healthcare sector.

Before joining Zymergen, Kavita worked at Aria Pharmaceuticals (formerly known as twoXAR Pharmaceuticals) from 2016 to 2019. In their role as Director of Business Intelligence, they facilitated the company's transition into a pharmaceutical company by forging collaborative R&D deals with global partners. Additionally, they also led the portfolio planning process and developed the company's own portfolio of discovery-stage drug programs. Prior to this, they served as a Business Development Executive at twoXAR, leveraging the company's computational platform for drug discovery and forming partnerships with industry and investors.

Kavita started their career at Deloitte as a Senior Consultant from 2014 to 2016. Kavita also worked at Deloitte as an MBA Summer Associate in 2013.

Before moving into the pharmaceutical and consulting industries, they gained experience in the oil and gas sector. Kavita worked at Shell Oil Company as an Operations Support Engineer from 2009 to 2012, with responsibilities focused on refining technologies. Prior to this, they served as a Process Engineer at Shell Oil Company in 2008.

Kavita'searly career started at Hewlett-Packard in 2007, where they worked in Media Research and Development for a brief period.

Kavita Baba holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Cornell University. Kavita also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from MIT Sloan School of Management, specializing in Business Administration and Management.
