Joost van der Horst

Joost van der Horst is a skilled professional with extensive experience in biotechnology and molecular biology. Currently serving as a Senior Technician at Merus N.V. since August 2019, Joost is responsible for functional screening of large panels of antibodies, assay development, optimization, and data analysis, while also taking on the roles of lab head and back-up responsible person for flow cytometers. Previously, Joost held the position of Cell Biology Screening Technician at Merus N.V., as well as Research Technician at VUmc, focusing on glycan profiles of tumor cells and their immune interactions. Early career roles included teaching assistant positions at VU University and Amsterdam UMC, as well as research internships at prominent institutions such as the Max Delbrück Center and Hubrecht Institute. Joost holds a Master of Science in Biomolecular Sciences from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a Bachelor of Science in Biological and Medical Laboratory Research from Hogeschool Leiden.
