Jay Woodard has extensive work experience in the field of engineering and project management.
- From 2022 to present, Woodard has been working at Merz Aesthetics as the Director of Global R&D Project Management, focusing on energy-based devices.
- Prior to Merz Aesthetics, they worked at Intuitive from 2016 to 2022, starting as a Manager in Mechanical Engineering and later advancing to the position of Senior Manager in Manufacturing and Supplier Engineering. At Intuitive, Woodard played a crucial role in developing engineering teams, supporting the development of the da Vinci X Surgical Robot, and improving process engineering.
- Before their time at Intuitive, Woodard worked at Plexus Corp. as a Senior Project Manager from 2015 to 2016. Jay managed large-scale medical device and life sciences product development projects, successfully winning a significant project.
- Woodard also gained experience at TransEnterix, Inc. as Principal Engineer from 2013 to 2015, and at Ethicon Endo-Surgery as a Staff Design Engineer from 2007 to 2013.
- Earlier in their career, Woodard held positions at Battelle Memorial Institute, Fitch (Joint Venture with GE Plastics), Ford Motor Company, AT&T Bell Laboratories, and General Motors, where they contributed their expertise in various engineering roles.
Jay Woodard has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Indiana University Bloomington, which they completed in 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biomedical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 2006. In 1986, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. Jay also holds additional certifications, including a Strategy and Innovation Executive Education Certificate from MIT Sloan School of Management obtained in 2020, and a PMP Certification from the Project Management Institute obtained in 2013.
