Sam Kerr, PhD has had extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. Currently, Sam serves as the Chief Scientific Officer for Merz Aesthetics at Merz North America. Prior to this role, Sam was the Chief Operating Officer at TMC Pharma Services Ltd. Before joining TMC, Sam worked at Allergan in various senior leadership positions, including Vice President of Therapeutic Area Head for Medical Devices, Aesthetics, and Vice President of Drug Development Operations for EMEA & Asia Pacific. Sam also represented Allergan on the Oversight Committee at TransCelerate BioPharma Inc. Additionally, Sam held positions at Sarah Cannon Research Institute, Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma, Ingenix Pharmaceuticals, and Ingenix Pharmaceutical Services. Sam's experience spans areas such as clinical development, clinical operations, and scientific advisory roles.
Sam Kerr, PhD has a diverse education history. In 1990, they obtained an HonsBSc in Immunology & Biochemistry from the University of Strathclyde. Subsequently, they pursued a PhD in Biochemical Parasitology at the University of Glasgow from 1994 to 1997. In 2017, Sam obtained a Genetics & Genomics Certificate from Stanford University. They also hold a certification as an ASQ Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence from the American Society for Quality, obtained in 2016.
