Matthias Marx

Matthias Marx has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Matthias is currently the Vice President and Head of Global Project Management at Merz Therapeutics since 2022. Prior to that, they held various roles at Merz Pharmaceuticals, including Vice President, Head of Global Project Management from 2020 to 2022 and 2017 to 2020, Vice President, Head of Corporate Regulatory Affairs & Product Safety from 2015 to 2017, Interim Chief Scientific Officer and Head of Global R&D from 2014 to 2015, and Head of Strategic Program & Portfolio Management from 2010 to 2014. Matthias also worked as a Senior Director and Program Manager in Global R&D from 2002 to 2009. Before joining Merz Pharmaceuticals, Matthias worked as a Clinical Study Manager at Merz Pharma GmbH and as a Clinical Research Associate at MDS Harris/Harris Laboratories. Matthias started their career as a Scientific Field Representative at Vedim Pharma / UCB GmbH.

Matthias Marx pursued their education at Heidelberg University, where they obtained their Diploma in Chemistry in the years 1986 to 1993. Matthias continued their academic journey in the field of Inorganic Chemistry, completing their PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) from Heidelberg University between 1993 and 1996.
