Michael Ortiz

Michael Ortiz is an experienced educator currently serving as the Lead World History Teacher at Democracy Prep Public Schools since September 2022, specializing in curriculum development and lesson modification for ICT scholars. Previously, Michael supported lessons as a co-teacher in Global History at MESA Charter High School while providing coverages and lesson planning assistance. Additional experience includes mentoring college students at The City University of New York and serving as a respite worker with Inclusive Links. Michael’s background also encompasses roles in customer service and sales at Foot Locker and Food Fair Market, alongside administrative support in classroom settings as a Teacher Aid. Michael holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Hunter College and an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Guttman Community College CUNY.
