Juliana Benito

Senior Research Director at Mesoblast

Juliana Benito has extensive work experience in the field of biotechnology and cancer research. Juliana is currently working as an Associate Director in Bioanalytical Development at Gene Therapy Biotech since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Mesoblast Limited from 2014 as a Senior Research Director, Associate Director-R&D, and Senior Research Scientist. From 2013 to 2014, they were an Instructor at UT at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where they conducted research in leukemia and managed lab organization. Before that, they were an Instructor at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center from 2012 to 2014. Juliana started their career as a postdoctoral fellow at MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2007 and also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Houston from 2003 to 2007.

Juliana Benito's education history begins with their attendance at Colegio Santa Catalina from 1981 to 1994, where they did not earn a specific degree or study a specific field. Juliana then went on to study at Universidad Nacional de Tucuman-Facultad de Bioquimica, Quimica y Farmacia from 1994 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Houston from 2003 to 2007, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Biology. Finally, from 2007 to 2013, Juliana Benito completed a Postgraduate Degree in Oncology and Cancer Biology at UT at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
